Everyone is invited to help celebrate the Cookie Company’s 25th Birthday – there’s a party in every show, complete with cookies and milk.

History of Cookie Company:
In 1980, Phoenix Theatre formalized Cookie Company, which is now a respected, award-winning children’s theatre. Alan J. Prewitt has served as the Artistic Director and Resident Playwright since that time, and has produced more than 75 original scripts. Cookie Company now exists on the very spot where Phoenix Theatre was first founded in 1920 by the Heard Family.
Partnerships have helped to enhance both the spirit of children and their education. Recent years have seen the development of the Phoenix Theatre Academy — now a leader in providing arts education programming
Champions of Change:
A study commissioned by the President’s Committee on the Arts, revealed that students with high levels of arts participation outperform “arts-poor” students by virtually every measure. But a closer look demonstrated clear evidence that: high arts participation makes a more significant difference to students from low-income backgrounds than for high-income students, as well as sustained involvement in particular art forms (specifically music and theatre) are highly correlated with success in mathematics and reading (25,000 students were tested).
